Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach
An aircraft flying near a popular southern California beach suddenly commenced twirling wildly, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Footage posted on the internet depict the aircraft starting to spin over the beach then descending near the border of the beach, where it gets stuck among palms and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders reported five individuals were taken to hospital comprising two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the road were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
Authorities said the chopper was associated with an regular “Cars N Copters” charity gathering planned for the following day.
